MISSION

The Mantaverse is an artistic, immersive, and educational digital world (metaverse) designed to promote awareness of ocean issues among individuals who may not normally engage with such content. In the Mantaverse, manta rays serve as charismatic ocean ambassadors to educate users about current ocean issues, including but not limited to IUU fishing, pollution, loss of coral reefs, and loss of biodiversity. This multi-stage project aims to increase ocean literacy and develop cognitive empathy through gameplay, interpersonal connection, dialogue, interactive data visualization, and immersive 3D imagery.
